PLANNING STEPS: HOW THE PROCESS WORKS:
Our Program For Creating an Estate Plan:
It’s fairly simple and is usually accomplished within a few weeks from start to finish.
1- Contact our office at (213) 984-1218 to arrange for a brief telephone consultation, during which we will discuss your specific needs, some recommended estate planning options, and our services and pricing.
2- If you would like to proceed with the estate planning, our office will then mail or email you a short contract confirming our agreement and an intake questionnaire for you to complete regarding the important details about your needs and objectives for estate planning. Once you have completed the form—at least to the extent possible, please return the signed contract along with the intake questionnaire and our office will contact you to schedule a consultation appointment with attorney John Donahue. At this time, a 50% deposit will be required per the agreement.
3- Design Phase: During your first meeting with Attorney John Donahue, he will explain how the estate planning process works and will discuss your particular situation and needs.
4- Based upon the first meeting, John will prepare customized estate planning document drafts, which will be mailed to you for your review. Any questions, issues or concerns regarding the draft documents can be discussed with John by phone or email.
5- Delivery/Signing Phase: Upon approval of the draft, John will finalize the documents and our office will contact you to arrange a last meeting at which the final documents will be explained, signed and notarized, and John will explain any additional steps that need to be taken to complete the process. At this time, any final payments will be due.
6- Funding/Property Transfer Phase: We will help you to transfer (i.e., “fund”) the assets into any trusts that you have set up in the estate plan.
7- Upon completion of the process, you will have the peace of mind of knowing that you have completed the process and have protected your loved ones. You will receive a copy of the entire estate planning documents in an indexed and organized Estate Planning Portfolio Binder for you to keep in a safe place.
PAYMENTS: We accept checks, paypal or credit card payments.
